                   In response to media queries on the ceasefire agreement regarding the conflict in Gaza which was reached on 26 August 2014, the MFA Spokesman said:

                   “Singapore welcomes the agreement for an open-ended ceasefire in Gaza which was successfully brokered by the Egyptian Government.  We urge all sides to comply fully with the ceasefire agreement so as to stop the cycle of violence.  We hope that the cessation of hostilities would allow for humanitarian relief to be delivered quickly and pave the way for further negotiations towards a durable peace.”
