The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Embassy in Cairo continue to monitor the situation in Egypt closely. The situation in Egypt has improved but some uncertainties remain. The Ministry therefore continues to advise Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Egypt. Singaporeans who require consular assistance may contact the Singapore Embassy in Cairo or the MFA Duty Officer (24-hours) at: Embassy of the Republic of Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs Duty Office (24 Hr) For Singaporeans who choose to remain in Egypt, they are advised to observe the nationwide curfew in place from 0000 to 0600 (local time) and monitor announcements about any changes to the curfew requirements. They should also take the necessary precautions for their personal safety and if not done already, eRegister immediately. For their safety, Singaporeans are reminded to be alert, monitor the news closely, observe instructions by local security authorities and avoid areas of public gatherings and disturbances. |
